Mario Lemieux, is a Canadian ice hockey player. Nicknamed "Le Magnifique" (The Magnificent) due to his talent and awarded numerous titles, he is considered one of the best players in the history of the National Hockey League (also referred to by the acronym NHL). He is a member of the circle of NHL players with more than 500 goals, as well as those with more than 1,000 points, and he is among the top players in the various NHL scoring leader rankings.
Mario Lemieux was born on October 5, 1965, in Ville-Émard, a district of Montreal in the province of Quebec. He played his entire professional career in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins between 1984 and 2006. In addition to numerous individual trophies and honors, he won two Stanley Cups with them in 1990-1991 and 1991-1992.
