Wayne Gretzky, O.C. (born January 26, 1961, in Brantford, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who also holds American citizenship. He played most of his professional career in the National Hockey League (NHL) and is generally considered the greatest player in the history of ice hockey. Wearing number 99 throughout his career, he is the only player whose number has been retired by all National Hockey League teams. He holds the majority of NHL records, whether for assists, points, hat tricks, or all the trophies won throughout his career. In twenty years in the NHL, he totaled 2,857 points, including 894 goals. Over his entire regular-season career, he averaged 1.92 points per game
