Allan Stanley

Allan Stanley (born March 1, 1926, in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, and died October 18, 2013). He was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played as a defenceman. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1981.

Stanley began his professional career in 1946 with the Providence Reds in the AHL. On December 9, 1948, he was traded to the New York Rangers for cash, Eddie Kullman, Moe Morris, and future considerations, making his NHL debut in New York that season. He became team captain during the 1951-1952 season until 1953. After playing for the Chicago Black Hawks and the Boston Bruins, Stanley was traded for Jim Morrison to the Toronto Maple Leafs on October 8, 1958. With the Maple Leafs, he won four Stanley Cups in 1962, 1963, 1964, and 1967. He concluded his professional career with the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1968-1969 season, having played a total of 1,244 NHL games, scoring 100 goals and 433 points.
