Glenn Hall

Glenn Henry Hall (born October 3, 1931 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada) is a professional ice hockey player.

He made his debut in the National Hockey League in 1952 with the Detroit Red Wings as a replacement for star goaltender Terry Sawchuk. Glenn Hall was one of the first to master the butterfly style. Early in his career, Hall tended to let goals in between his pads. He began to develop a knack for dropping to his knees to block shots along the ice. In his first full season, Glenn Hall played in all 70 games and led the league with 12 shutouts and won the Calder Trophy as best rookie. He continued to play in goal for 502 consecutive games, a record that still stands today.

.Hall shared goaltending duties with Jacques Plante and retired in 1971. In 1975, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. During his career, he won the Vezina Trophy for best goaltender in the league three times[3]. In 2017, he was named among the 100 greatest NHL players to mark the league's centenary[
